We are incredibly grateful to share that ALCFRC has been selected as a grant recipient of the Arby's Foundation.

Their generous support will help strengthen two important areas of our mission by contributing to our Workforce Development and After School Tutoring programs, allowing us to continue equipping individuals and families with the tools, support, and resources they need to thrive.

Thank you, Arby’s Foundation, for investing in our community and in the work of strengthening Limestone County families!

Literacy shows up in more of everyday life than we often realize, from reading instructions and filling out applications to helping kids learn. As we continue our Celebrate Freedom Through Literacy campaign, we’re inviting our community to be part of that foundation.

Our 25 for $25 in 25 fundraiser is underway, and we’re looking for 25 donors to give $25 a month over the next 25 days to support literacy programs at ALCFRC.

Recently, ALCFRC’s Learning Lab was chosen as a ProLiteracy® Literacy Opportunity Fund award winner!

ProLiteracy uses this fund to give select programs general operating funds to offset day-to-day expenses, expand programming, host events, purchase materials, or for any other needs they have. This grant, supported by the Nora Roberts Foundation, is based on a comprehensive application process that weighs a number of factors. This includes each applicant’s current needs combined with detailed plans outlining how they will use the grant to increase program capacity to better serve the needs of adults in their community.

We are proud to say that the Learning Lab was among 30 recipients across the US selected to share in $148,000 in funding. You can read more about the Literacy Opportunity Fund awards at https://www.proliteracy.org/news/literacy-opportunity-fund-spreads-148k-between-30-nonprofits-in-q1/

We are committed to providing adults in Limestone County with Basic Adult Literacy, English as a Second Language, testing prep for the GED, TABE, and Citizenship Test. This grant will allow us to grow by allowing us to serve more students and provide updated materials for their studies. This will include curriculum, books, and online programs to aid in studying for things like the GED, TABE, and Citizenship tests.

Our community is stronger when every adult has the chance to reach their full potential. This grant will allow us to multiply our impact.

Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day that honors freedom, resilience, and progress.

Observed on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

This day serves as both a celebration of liberation and a reminder of the continued work toward equity, opportunity, and justice for all.

As we reflect on this important moment in history, we remain committed to strengthening our community by creating pathways for growth, support, and opportunity.

We’re excited to launch Celebrate Freedom Through Literacy!

As America’s 250th anniversary approaches, we’re reflecting on how deeply literacy has shaped the way people learn, grow, and connect in everyday life. It has long been a foundation of opportunity in this country.

To keep literacy at the forefront of our community values, the ALCFRC is kicking off our 25 for $25 in 25 campaign. We’re looking for 25 community donors to pledge $25 a month over the next 25 days to support our literacy programs and continue strengthening Limestone County families.

Every pledge makes a difference in the life of a learner. Support our campaign by going to our website or using the link below: https://www.paypal.com/donate?token=1Shu73a-4MX0a6dG2-I3mkSQiPdE5RJkuBEalt6rrdfGEZrA1SVn9rHyfgdyRamHAjPSJNaGfj3_-GJI&locale.x=US
