In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire a love of reading in honor of her father, who couldn’t read or write.That same mission lives here in Limestone County.

 On July 1, 2023, the Athens-Limestone County Family Resource Center became a Local Program Partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Today, more than 3,000 children in Limestone County receive a new book in the mail every month.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make this possible. If you are able, please consider supporting youth literacy in our community. A gift of $30 a month, or $360 a year, can provide 12 children with books for one year.

Together, we can continue building a brighter future for our children and carrying on Dolly’s legacy of putting books in the hands of children.
